"As a cigar sommelier, my passion is to combine selected cigars with fine beverages. I prefer medium-strong to strong, slender cigars such as Cuban Trinidad Lanceros or the Compañeros Coronas Largas from Honduras, which are unfortunately almost impossible to get nowadays. But when I do, I like to take a glass of strong, expressive vintage champagne during the first third, an elegant agricole-style rum for the middle part and then a mature Late Bottled Vintage Port for the strong finale. It’s practical when you can enjoy all the drinks from the same glass. In rooms filled with the haze of blue tobacco, it also makes sense to use glasses with an opening that is not overly large, allowing the nose perfect access to the top of the glass.
